On Friday March 24th, our Diversity club held a TIE-DYEversity event in hopes to bring our school community closer together. Earlier this year, we created snowflakes to show that we all come from the same composition, but all have different individualities and backgrounds. There wasn’t a single snowflake that looked the same, even though every single one started from a white piece of paper.
For this tie dye event, students were able to choose from several different patterns, and colors. Every shirt started out as a plain white t-shirt, but by the end, we all had a different, unique shirt. This event really focused on the differences that we all have, but yet we can all come together and connect in different ways.
RETHINK, RELAX, REFOCUS… Our Diversity AND Aevidum club have both been teaming together to bring our school community closer together. Rethink, Relax and Refocus are our main objectives while holding our several events. When we RETHINK, we can take a step back, and realize differences are not a bad thing. All of our differences in character, biases, and backgrounds are all positive attributes that we can think about to connect with others. When we RELAX, we forget about all of the negativity in our life, and we focus on the positive parts. Lastly, we REFOCUS and realize that we are all different in good ways, and those ways make us all unique and give our community its character!
